Melbourne is lucky to have some great bike paths along the creeks and rivers that give the feeling of being many miles from civilisation. Our Saturday social rides feature one of our favourite sections of these paths, just five kms from the CBD.
The ride is a short and pleasant one along a bike path that takes in the Merri Creek, Dights falls, the Yarra trail, the Abbotsford convent, Studley park,Yarra bend park and the Collingwood childrens farm market where we will stop for a picnic brunch (weather permitting) or inside lunch at nearby Lentil as anything (wet weather plan).
There is no cost for joining us on these rides, though the Collingwood
childrens farm market has a two dollar entry fee, and we will all be buying food to contribute to a group picnic brunch. These rides are an opportunity to enjoy a relaxed cycle with the Escape the city team. Families are welcome, and Dave and John may have one of their little tackers in tow?
The terrain is best suited to a hybrid or mountain bike.
Please note their is no support (except morale support) on these rides, and no transportation is provided. The starting and ending point is Rushall station on the Epping line, though you may wish to find your own way home via one of the great boathouses we will pass on the way?

10:30 – 11:15 – Free time at Collingwood Children’s farm market
